A new over 16s football club

A new football  club, Amble St. Cuthbert’s, has been recently formed and is formally entered in the North Northumberland Football League. This is an over 16s official FA sponsored league. The club plays at Amble Welfare on Saturday afternoons.

The club came into being through the initiative of Sam Palin, who said, “ I have thought we needed such a team for some time, but the need became greater after the demise of Amble FC in January this year.”

Sam is a member of St. Cuthbert’s Church, which is supporting the venture mainly with regular finances, and practical help where needed. Hence the name of the new club. Sam is also pursuing other sources of income from the town, as he estimates that the cost of the season might be £1,400. Any sponsorship will be appreciated and publicly recognised.
