Alan Gair memorial match

River Coquet FC played their third annual game against a selection of finely tuned fishermen and lifeboat crew from Amble harbour, in memory of Alan Gair. The match raised £1,933 for the charity Great North Air Ambulance Service. Alan’s parents, John and Betty kicked off the game. After a minute’s silence, the game began.

Fisherman man of the match, picked by John and Betty, went to Kyle Armstrong, and River Coquet man of the match was Carl Stewart. Special thanks must go to the RNLI lifeboat men who also put a few lads in the fishermen team, to Alan’s family and friends for turning up and supporting this event, to DJ, Susan and Rachel at the Schooner for putting on a fantastic spread once again, to the Stewart kids (Casey Jack, Bobby & Kalum) for going round with the buckets and of course everyone for putting money in and donating prizes to the cause.

“A big thank you to absolutely everyone who made this a massive reality. Thank you so very much,” said Carl Stewart.
