Time for flu jabs

Posted on 18th October 2011 | in Community

Local doctors are reminding people who are at risk from flu to get vaccinated and protect themselves. The vaccine is available FREE to the following people:

  • All pregnant women
  • Anyone aged 65 years or over
  • Anyone who has a long term health problem.

Flu is a preventable illness yet it continues to kill people living in Northumberland every year. It is crucial that those at risk get the vaccine to protect themselves. From October GP practices will be able to start giving patients the vaccine.
If you fall into one of the categories listed above then contact your GP surgery today and ask to make an appointment for your flu vaccine.
