North Shields Ospreys  1   FC Amble  9

FC Amble travelled to North Shields on a very bright autumn morning and produced a display which matched the weather conditions .

FC Amble pressed from the first whistle at a very high tempo and were only thwarted by some good goalkeeping from the Home keeper .

Both K Goodwin and D Ramshaw went close before the deadlock was broken in the 13th minute after D Handyside both created and finished the opener ( 1- 0 ) . Amble’s lead was extended a couple of minutes later after J Ford finished coolly after being played in by D Armstrong ( 2- 0 ) . D Armstrong was involved in creating the third goal when he fired in a dangerous cross which D Ramshaw met and finished in style ( 3- 0 ) . Amble continued to press and were rewarded on the stroke of half time when D Handyside added his 2nd of the day with Amble leading 4- 0 at the break .

Amble were given a bit of a jolt after the break when North Shields hit them on the break and scored to get a goal back ( 4- 1 )  . This angered the young seasiders and they responded immediately, B Handyside hitting the post. They then took a 5- 1 lead when B Handyside played a pass in to D Ramshaw who finished in style with the outside of his boot .

D Handyside then completed his hat trick after D Armstrong played the ball in to R Paton who squared the ball for the on rushing midfielder to finish in style ( 6- 1 ) . Amble never let up and D Armstrong scored a deserved goal after an outstanding display when he converted J Ford’s corner ( 7- 1 ) .R Paton then combined well with J Ford with some nice interplay which saw Ford stroke the ball into the net ( 8- 1 ) . There was just time for K Goodwin to get in on the act with a trademark strike from the edge of the box that the keeper could not keep out ( 9- 1 )

Another good performance from Amble which saw them play some fantastic football throughout the match in which they got their just rewards .

Spurrelis man of the match :  David Armstrong
