Another fantastic performance from the youngsters of Amble, saw them blitz a shell-shocked WBFC Blues team from Whitley Bay, who had no answer to the power and passing game that Amble produced.

FC Amble scored in the first minute of the game when the ball landed at the feet of D Handyside who despatched the ball clinically (1-0). They doubled their lead a minute later when D Ramshaw struck the ball from long range into the top corner, giving the keeper no chance (2-0) .FC Amble then began to enjoy themselves and produced some slick passing to which Whitley Bay had no answer. They soon added a third goal from a J Ford corner which K Goodwin controlled and powered into the roof of the net (3-0).

J Ford then netted after some great link up play with D Armstrong (4-0). D Handyside scored a quick-fire double to give him yet another hat-trick, extending the lead to 6-0. Just before halt time, Ford struck a majestic left-footed strike from outside the area to give FC Amble a well deserved 7-0 lead at the interval.

The second half kicked off in the same vein, with the defence of M Kerr, R Paton and B Handyside not giving the home team even a sniff at goal. Amble then extended their lead with the tricky wing play of D Armstrong playing in the diminutive D Ramshaw who finished coolly (8-0). The FC Amble goalkeeper, T Hall, was then given a chance to show his skills outfield, after a quiet afternoon between the sticks, and he was involved straightaway when his shot was parried by the keeper only to fall to Ramshaw to tuck away for his hat-trick (9-0).

Not happy with 3 goals D Ramshaw then extended his personal tally to five for the game with two more goals in quick succession making the score 11-0. D Handyside then got his fourth of the afternoon with a great run and finish to make it 12-0. Just before full-time, Amble were awarded a penalty and up stepped keeper T Hall with a finish Alan Shearer himself would have been proud of, to draw an end to the game with Amble running out 13-0 winners.

This was a great performance, but the youngsters know that there are some hard games to come in the next few weeks and they will need to be on top of their game to keep their good run of form going.

Spurrelis man of the match:  J Ford
