Pauline Flanighan’s son, Flight Sergeant Adrian Flanighan (pictured right) was made redundant in September. Adrian was born in Amble and went to Coquet High School. On leaving school he joined the RAF and has served for 25 years, becoming an air electronics operator on Nimrods. At a presentation for his leaving he was given a Station Commander’s Commendation and praised for outstanding performance and dedication to duty. He now lives in Elgin and is looking at his options. Pauline said, “I am very proud of him.”
