Mayor, Alan Symmonds with Vera Murphy (Chair) and Moira Macfarlane (Bureau Manager)

Alnwick’s mayor officially opened a new Citizens Advice information centre at the end of October. The Information Centre at the offices of the Alnwick & District Citizens Advice Bureau will initially be open Mondays and Thursday 10am to 12noon, providing callers with a range of topics and access to information from trusted websites.

Mayor Alan Symmonds, a Trustee of the charity, said he was proud to open the Centre at a time when more and more local people were turning to the CAB for help. He thanked the Bureau’s volunteers for their commitment and professionalism. The centre was funded through the RDPE Leader Programme.

He recommended the charity as a rewarding and enjoyable place to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering at CAB, call Elizabeth Garrett on 01665 604136. There is a wide variety of roles you can choose from. CAB Helpline: 01665 604135 (9am-4pm Mon- Fri).
