Digital volunteers wanted

Workshops for NCDN’s Digital Volunteering with Older People project.

Northumberland Community Development Network are looking for volunteers to help older people get online. Some older people may be complete beginners, some may just need a hand getting used to their own laptop or software. Some may want to Skype or explore their family history. If you could help, NCDN can provide support for you as a volunteer. To sign up as a digital volunteer please email julia@ncdn.org or ring NCDN on 01668 219879.

For those who have already signed up as NCDN digital volunteers, there are several support workshops:

1-4 pm Weds 8th August – Focus on internet safety at Fourways 2, 6 Dilston Terrace, Amble, Northumberland NE65 0DT

1-4pm Weds Sep 12th– Focus on support for new learners at Heddon (Venue details to be confirmed)

11-3.30 pm Thurs 18th October – Focus on troubleshooting (followed by laptop surgery drop-in at 1pm, and project steering group at 2pm) at Bell View Resource Centre, 33, West Street, Belford NE70 7QB

11.30 – 2pm Tues 13th Nov at – Focus on accessing services online at Choppington Welfare Centre, Colliery Road, Scotland Gate, Choppington Northumberland, NE62 5SS

 

Workshops will include technical support from the Community IT Academy, and the chance to talk through any issues that have arisen about working with people.

    I think the date for the meeting at Heddon is wrong because 15th Sept is on a Saturday.
