Harbour Day 2012

Posted on 10th August 2012 | in Community , Heritage & Tourism , What's On

Amble Lifeboat Station Harbour Day will take place on Sunday 26th August at 10am and should be a fun day out for all of the family. We will have our usual stalls including adult and junior tombola,  books, bric a brac, water or wine, toys and the souvenir stall. You will also be able to buy yummy ice creams and there will be rides for the children on the Little Shore.

There will be a Grand Raffle for a painting by local artist Jimmy Thompson and Stormy Sam, the RNLI mascot, could well put in an appearance.

This year we will have representatives from the Fire Service and new attractions to include paintballing and  displays by the Sea Cadets .  The classic motorcycles will be there and you can have your photograph taken with them. There will be live music in the form of a steel band.

The highlight of the day will once again be the exercise in the harbour involving both the Amble lifeboats and the Sea King helicopter from RAF Boulmer.   Please note – the exercise will be held at approx. 11.15am when it will be high tide.

This will be a day out not to be missed so please come along with your family, have fun and support the RNLI .
