JCSC open day

Welcome to James Calvert Spence College Amble

We provide secondary education for students between the ages of 11 -18 and what makes us unique is the fact that we also cater for students in Years 5 and 6. Caring for students during these vitally important years in their education gives us huge potential to do things differently. At James Calvert Spence College every child really does matter and we are determined that no child will be left behind. We cater for children of all abilities.

We are a small college, in total we have less than 1000 students, that means that the staff  know each child personally and can respond immediately and sensitively to any issues or concerns. We are ambitious and we are determined that every child will achieve well.  This years exam results prove our dedication to the students; 80% of students achieved a L4 or higher in their English SATs and 73% achieved a L4 or higher in their mathematics SATs, GCSE Science enjoyed another excellent year, 100% of students studying Biology, Chemistry and Physics achieved A*-C,  JCSC  improved its measure of  5 A*-C  including mathematics and English’ by more than 10% and every student that wanted to go on to higher education received a place.

Our students deserve the best and the changes we have made are designed to show our students that they can succeed.

If you would like to learn more about the college, have a look around our refurbished buildings, meet the staff and some of our current students,  please visit us at our open evenings next week:
