Josie Matthews has recently retired from N&F Young on Queen Street. The occasion was marked by a party in the shop, to which customers were invited by Lesley Young.

Josie has worked at Young’s for 29 years, 4 months. She said that what she enjoyed most was meeting people. “Decorating your house is very personal and I always get involved in their decision-making.”

A long standing customer, Lesley Griffiths, said that Josie had always been really helpful, listening and advising. “You don’t get that sort of service in the big stores like B&Q.”

Everybody enjoyed wine and nibbles and wished Josie a long and happy retirement. What will she do now? “Help John to deliver newspapers, especially in the snow!” she replied.
