2012 in pictures
2012 was a memorable year for the Friendliest Port. We had highs and lows of course, but who could forget the arrival of the Olympic Torch, (in all that rain), the colourful Jubilee celebrations and then the beautiful summer day visit of HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Northumberland.

Amble Christmas Lights
Christmas in Amble got off to a great start, with a festive market preceding the torchlight procession
Warkworth-Bridge in flood
Floods returned in September, with parts of Warkworth affected.
Both lifeboats and the RAF Sea King helicopter put on rescue displays at the event

The event was held in the Town Square once the Prince and Duchess of Northumberland had finished their visit.

Pharmacist Alison Lowes worked at the Olympic Park during the event.
“It was an honour to run with the torch” said Caitlin Pringle.
James Boyd carried the torch through North Shields
Hilary Brooker-Carey carried the torch through Whitley Bay
Josie Goodfellow carried the torch through Berwick
Lisa French carried the torch through the rest of Amble
Logan Jones carried the Olympic torch into Amble.
