Antiques and crafts in former Marina pub

Posted on 27th February 2013 | in Business News

Yet another exciting new business is opening shortly in Amble, this time in the former Marina Arms building.
Pauline Robertson and her husband Chris are starting a sharespace, hopefully ‘a week or two before Easter’, which will include antique dealers, photographers, watercolour artists, a quilter, a couple selling bric-a-brac and possibly a woodcarver.

Chris, who is a long established French polisher, will use the workshop at the rear of the building for furniture restoration and may possibly run classes, depending on the level of demand.

“He had a stall at Warkworth Show a couple of years ago and several people said they would be interested in classes,” said Pauline.
There will also be a coffee shop.

“We put a board up outside the building a couple of weeks ago,” she told us, “and have had loads of response. There’s nothing like it in the area, so we are hoping for a lot of interest.

“It’s a good site, with good potential for passing trade. We wanted to involve local people.”

Although the building interior wasn’t finished when The Ambler went to press, Pauline was hoping to have an open day, so that business people and customers alike could see what it would be like.

  1. I noticed your sign outside the marina pub yesterday and would like to know more about our upcoming venture.
I used to have a craft shop in Ashington until November last year, but had to close it.
i paint, sew, make cards and invites, sell craft supplies etc.,. I am busy with a website but i am interested in your craft and antique centre,
Could you please advise me and whether you have any more room for another participant.
    Thank you,
    Sue

Not sure if you have followed this up yet. I am going to be one of the stall holders in Artique @ The Marina and would happily pass on contact details for Pauline Robertson the owner/manager if you like.

      Thanks

It will be nice to see this building functioning again. 🙂 BTW, if anyone is in need of an accountant, my hubby is pretty good, if I do say so myself!
