The first boxing show to be held in Amble in many years will take place on 4th June in the Radcliffe Club. The show will see Hadston Boxing Club stage the ABA sanctioned night. They will display some of the region’s hottest talents, including a number of local lads.

Keith McDonald (or Maxi as he is known) has been running the club since many readers of the Ambler learned to tie their shoe laces but his passion for the sport has not diminished. ‘I’m really looking forward to staging the show back in Amble. Anywhere you go, Amble is associated with being sport crazy.

As well as a boxing show, many of the lads who used to come to the club are using it as a sort of reunion, to have a crack with old mates over a few beers and watch some up and coming talents.  There will be around 12 bouts covering a number of weight categories with some really big amateur names from around the region.

‘It’s a great opportunity for Amble to support a club that started off here and hopefully, if the support is shown on the night, bring the club back to Amble Boys Club.’ said Amble Boys Club Chairman, John Kelly of Kelly Construction.

Bruce Durham, organising advertising said, ‘The atmosphere will be so electric we will have our own internal thunder and lightning phenomenon in that room that night! The number of people and parents that have asked me over the years to bring a show to Amble have made this happen. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with everyone who has been part of the club over the years’.

Tickets are £12 standing and will be available before and on the night, with sponsorship opportunities at £200 for a table of ten.
All ticket information and sponsorship opportunities can be discussed with Keith directly on  07792 026 152
