Another Amble filmmaker in the making

Local lad and budding filmmaker Andrew Summers has been awarded a place on the National Youth Film Academy apprenticeship scheme. He received the award on Monday 22nd April. Twenty apprentices were interviewed and chosen out of 100 applicants who were interested in working in the creative industry.

The National Youth Film Academy is the largest production office run by people between the ages of 16 and 25 and is led by Artistic Director Rob Earnshaw.
Apprentices will work in four different departments over a course of 12 months in order to understand all different aspects of the creative industry.

These departments include PR & Events, Creative, Scripts & Production. This will enable apprentices to explore and develop their talents to create the best in British film.

Andrew Summers commented: ‘’The NYFA are going to help me better my script writing skills which I’m really excited about’’
Last issue we reported on another Amble filmmaker, Bryan Walmsley, who also secured a place on the apprenticeship scheme.
