Torchlight Parade lights up Christmas by the sea

Thousands of people turned out to see Amble’s Christmas lights switch-on and torchlight procession this year.
Organisers were delighted at the turnout and described the procession as the biggest ever.

“This was possibly the best one yet. It was lovely to see so many people taking part in the procession. We had more floats than ever and the lanterns were magical.” said Julia Aston of Amble Development Trust.

The lantern making workshops were once again very well attended, with families joining together to create their own Christmas by the sea themed lanterns.

The Christmas lights were officially switched on by Amble’s Young Citizen of the Year, Bobby Stone.
