Carers, get in touch

Posted on 21st March 2014 | in Community

The county’s only local charity working for all carers, regardless of their caring circumstances, is concerned that many carers don’t know it exists and would like them to get in touch.

Anne-Marie Johnstone, Information Officer, said, “Many carers are missing out on information about benefits and support. We want carers to contact us if they are caring for a family member or friend who is elderly, ill, disabled or misuses substances. Being a carer can be very isolating and we want them to know that we are here to support them, whatever their situation.”

Carers Northumberland’s information line is 01670 320025. They work closely with specialist agencies across Northumberland and beyond, to secure the most appropriate information and advice for carers.
