Award winning show comes to Amble

Posted on 14th October 2014 | in What's On

This autumn we are hosting “Bane 2 and 3”, two comedy shows written and performed by Joe Bone with music and dramaturgy from Ben Roe, sponsored by the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.  (Many of you will remember the brilliantly successful “Devious Minds” last autumn and “Seven Ages” in spring this year.)

“Bane” is a one-man one-musician series of plays that follows gunslinger Bruce Bane as he goes about his shadowy business in the city.  Bone plays all the characters whilst Roe plays all the music. The shows have won the pair multiple awards and critical success.

The shows are set on the streets of a nondescript American city, akin to a Raymond Chandler or Dashiell Hammett novel, spliced together with a Quentin Tarantino movie.  It’s a comic story of revenge with a tough talking anti-hero, often dispensing a trio of bullets to the chest in search of those that wronged him!

“brilliant comedy theatre… could just be the best crime movie never made” – The Guardian

The show will be on Saturday 18 October at 7:30 pm in Amble Parish Hall, Dovecote Street.  Tickets are £8 for adults and £7 for concessions, and will be available from N & F Young, Amble or from Mike Dixon (01670 760007).

You can also book online at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/highlights/
There will be a licensed bar at the event.
Please note:  This show is not suitable for children under 14.
