NHS-LogoElections to the council of governors – are you interested in becoming a public governor?

Northumbria Healthcare NHs Foundation Trust will shortly be holding elections to our Council of Governors and are looking for public governors to represent several constituencies across the trust.

Public  governors are an integral part of our Council of Governors; representing the views of the public members and helping to ensure that the trust always considers their views when making decisions.

Public governors work alongside our staff governors and our governors who represent stakeholder organisations; together they have statutory and obligatory duties to fulfil.  Our governors are an important part of our trust as they are the key link between our members (staff, patient and public) and our Board of Directors.

We have a number of vacancies for public governors across the trust, which include:

  • Three vacancies in Berwick upon Tweed
  • One vacancy in Blyth Valley
  • Two vacancies in North Shields
  • Three vacancies in North West Tyneside
  • Two vacancies in Wallsend
  • Four vacancies in Wansbeck
  • Three vacancies in Hexham
  • Three vacancies in Whitley Bay

If you want to know more about becoming a public governor then please call the foundation team on 0191 203 1296 or email foundation@northumbria.nhs.uk
