Sad sight on beach

Posted on 22nd February 2018 | in Community , Letters & Email , Opinion

I was walking on the beach near the Amble links caravan park and came across these poor seals. I am new to the area and I’m wondering is this a usual occurrence or is something wrong here?

If you find a dead seal on the beach you should notify Northumberland County Council: 0345 600 6400. Young seal pups should be left alone as their mothers are often nearby. If you are concerned about the wellbeing of a seal, contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 or the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) on 01825 765546. Always keep your dog away from seals as they may carry disease. -Ed
