St Cuthbert’s Church

Café Church – surely it is either a café or a church it can’t be both can it?

Since September St Cuthbert’s Parish Church has been holding regular times that we call Café Church. On the first Sunday of each month we meet for refreshments at 3.30 pm.

During the Christmas season these have included cinnamon stars to fit in with our Christmas theme of following a star. After sharing a cuppa and a snack together we sit around our “café” tables to share an informal time of worship together at 4.00 pm.

We sing and pray but instead of a sermon we have a discussion, listen to a story and maybe even make something together. In this way we are able to share our thoughts about the big questions of life.

People who come have found that they feel supported and get to know other people as well as exploring more about faith.  It lasts about 40 minutes.

We welcome people of all ages, it is good to see families coming together to join us.

Why not give it a try? In March we will be meeting on Sunday 1st and in April Sunday 5th (Easter Sunday). Look out for our posters around the town which have the theme for the month.

St Cuthbert’s welcomes you.

This is such a good way to spend Sunday in prayer and happiness. I hope it will draw many local people of all ages to worship. We surely can devote a couple of hours to God once a week.
