Calling all inhaler users
Coquet Medical Group has a message for inhaler users about changes to prescriptions. More inhalers, which are CFC-free, are now available and the government has requested that we should start to prescribe CFC-free Inhalers, where possible, to help protect the ozone layer.
Therefore, patients currently using Beclometasone Inhalers will be prescribed Clenil Modulite CFC-free Inhalers instead. This change will begin on December 1st, 2007. All patients affected by these and similar changes in the future will be notified by the Practice in advance.
The new Clenil Modulite CFC-free preventer inhaler will work in a similar way to the Beclometasone Inhaler. There is a chance however that some patients might notice slight differences in the spray that leaves the inhaler. For example: –
•There may be no cold effect when the spray hits the back of the throat
•The spray may leave the inhaler at a slower speed
•There could be a softer sensation at the back of the throat
•The spray might have a slightly different taste.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the Asthma Nurse at your Health Centre, who will be happy to help.
