Slimming World donation

In December 2007 the members of the Amble Slimming World Group made a very welcome donation of £150 to the Amble Lifeboat Station. Mr Rodney Burge, lifeboat coxswain attended the presentation and said the money would assist in the efficient operation of the station and lifeboats.

The group meets at Trinity Methodist Church, Percy Street, every Monday evening at 5.15pm and 7pm.

Consultant Mrs Shirley Knox said how proud she was of her members and the level of support they give to each other. Between them they have lost an amazing 180 stones, equal to 1.5 tons or a medium sized family car. She thought it a fantastic result for 2007.
