Time Flies
On Saturday 9th May some of the Artograffi gang went to the old Co-op building in Queen Street and held an event to launch the Time Flies project.
Show at launch of Time Flies project

I thought the event was very good especially the men that did a little show.

The Time Flies travel agency was unreal but some people believed that it was true.

A few weeks ago two artists, Henry and Marianne came in, and made us do some pictures of how we imagined Amble might be in the future. Once we made the pictures they put them on display in the window.

By Siobhan Henderson

Editors note - If you hurry, you can still see Artograffi's ideas for the future of Amble in the old Co-op window. Some people will have received comments cards delivered with their Amblers. Please fill them in with your ideas for Amble's future and what you thought of the "Time Travel agency".

Is Girls Aloud the greatest girl band of all time?

Yes, well Rachel and Elly think so!
Girls aloud are Cheryl Cole, Kimberly Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts.
Their best tracks are, Untouchable, The Loving Kind and the best selling track of all time is The Sound of the Underground.
Our favourites are Cheryl Cole and Kimberly Walsh.
At the Girls Aloud tour 2008 at the Metro radio arena Elly met Cheryl and I met Sarah. Their new tour is in May and June and is called Out of Control.

Bike Week 2009 - 13th to 21st June

Bike for bike week

Bike Week is the UK’s largest opportunity to use cycling as a source of fitness and fun, not to mention an alternative form of transport.  This year(2009) Bike Week is encouraging eryone to ‘get more out of life’ by getting on your bikes, exploring your area and finding out just how much better cycling is for all those short trips we make each day.

Ibiza

On my holiday in Ibiza I met a family and they were so funny! They had a little toddler and a little child they were with their Mum and Dad, we went to the disco with them and lots of other things. I would love to go again.

Skin Cancer

Experts say that skin cancer will treble by 2035 , the World Health Organization say that young people aged under 18 should not be able to use sun tan booths , they say that the new fashion trend of having a tan is increasing skin cancer . Though skin cancer has also increased due to global warming , so when you go on holiday make sure you put sun cream on and stay out of the sun at midday .

Bullies

All around Britain there has been a serious problem with bullying. For a long time now people have been trying to solve the problem. I used to get called ‘Shorty’ and ‘midget’ which are signs of bullying but not as bad as some people. If anyone who is reading this has been bullied I have a little advice:
Never keep it to yourself - tell someone.
Don’t fight back just walk away.
Don’t worry there are plenty of helplines out there here is one: 0800 11 11 also look at www.bullying.co.uk
Please call if you need help

bullies break hearts

Bullies stop now

Bullies are all over Britain even in Amble. Everyone has probably had some experience of being bullied. You can often feel alone, you can also feel like there is nothing you can do. Tom Daley the diver who represented Britain in Beijing Olympic 2008 was bullied for his great talent just because he went to the Olympics. He is 14 years old - just a normal person like me and you.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
*TELL SOMEBODY YOU TRUST
*IF IT’S CYBER BULLYING, SHOW AN ADULT (cyber bullying is being bullied on emails/texts)
Remember: STICKS AND STONES MIGHT BREAK MY BONES BUT WORDS WILL NEVER HURT ME!

Chili

Edible four and the Summer Solstice part 1

It was the summer solstice and it was baking hot at 30 degrees Celsius!
Bugerman was sweating tomato sauce “It’s so hot” he moaned, then he saw a flash of red light fly into Amble.
Cokeguy was walking down Queen Street, beads of coke dribbling down his hot metal body, then the flash smashed into the middle of Queen Street a chilli shaped body emerged.
(Little did Cokeguy know he was part of an alien species who had chilli shaped body and could make the area around them really hot and could shoot fire from there hands)
“Hello HUMANS! I am Chili you will obey me” he ordered. “ No, they don’t have to!” replied Cokeguy as he shot a bolt of coke at Chili but it evaporated when it hit him. Chili sneered, “Tomorrow. 12 o’clock. Right here. And bring the rest of the Edible Four friends, you animated coke can!” And then he flew off.

St George's Day event

St George’s Day

We interveiwed Luke Iredale who was at the event.
“It was a fun day”he said, ”It was awesome, there was lots to do and the wall climbing was fun.
What was there?
“The rock climbing wall, one of those things where you throw a sponge at an old person. I had a go on that. There was a ‘guess the age of the dragon’ and you could win a pinata. There was an RNLI stall a jumble stall and the sanctuary animals.
I would be very happy if there was another one next year !”
