Magical Torchlight Procession
Amble’s magical Torchlight Procession was organised by Coquet Partnership of Schools Extended Services. Artist Elaine Porter worked with pupils from Amble and Druridge Bay Middle Schools and Coquet High School to create the fabulous Alice In Wonderland lantern designs.
“It was a spectacular sight to see the Mad Hatter dance his way through Amble. Drum Din led the Parade followed by the White Rabbit and Alice,” said Sara Jenson-Boon, Coquet Partnership Extended Services Co-ordinator.
A forest of sparkly Christmas Trees designed by pupils from years three and four of all the First Schools in the Coquet Partnership brought the Lantern Procession to a dramatic close.
“Thanks to all the children, young people, and their families, along with teachers from all of the schools who were involved in the workshops and the parade,” said Sara. “Next year’s parade is already being planned!”
