Local Police making a difference
Road safety campaign
Amble Funeralcare, in conjunction with Northumbria Police, held a campaign in Amble First School to promote road safety for children. They held a colouring competition and chose one winner from each year group. Each winner received a prize and each child in the school received a reflective badge.
Funeralcare have done this for several years and think it is a very successful and worthwhile campaign. The local police also gave a talk which included role play and the importance of road safety.
Amble Boys Club donation
Youngsters from Amble Boys Club have benefited from a donation of £400 from The Police Charities. The Charity was approached by PCSO Darin Fawcett from Amble Neighbourhood Policing Team after he heard the Club were looking for donations in order to keep the Club running.
The donation helped the Club to buy a new fridge, microwave, air-hockey table, swingball, dancemat and a number of computer games.
