Stand up paddleboarding

Here’s a new outdoor sport – paddleboarding, where you stand on a traditional surfboard, but use a paddle to propel yourself through the water or into the waves. Surfer John Nolan thinks this new craze is perfect for calmer days when the waves are not strong enough for surfing. “It’s a fantastic experience,” he said.

“It started from the old traditional Hawaiian beach boys style. It’s an all round body exercise and is perfect for balance and core stability.”

John is offering taster sessions and courses in both stand up paddleboarding and stand up paddlesurfing in addition to traditional surf lessons. You can contact him on: 07944398115 or jon@northside-surf-school.co.uk
