Bless the community 2010

Posted on 22nd October 2010 | in Community

On Saturday, August 21st, Coquet Churches Together, welcomed several young people from the “Staying Alive” ecumenical youth event.

These teenagers get together for about four days each year, at Seahouses,  spending time learning, praying and worshipping together as young Christians and generally having fun. Each year is seen to be better than the last, according to those attending.

The young folk spent the morning on a clean up of the beach. Then the Free Fun Afternoon went really well. Many families enjoyed the traditional games, refreshments and entertainment that went on in the Town  Square.  People do want to donate money, but on these occasions, the churches “ give” to the local people and visitors, as part of our “ Bless the Community Day”.

It was summed up by a small boy, with his face painted like a Tiger who said “I have had a fantastic afternoon”! And we all did too!!
