Police incidents: December 2011

On 2nd December 2011 police on patrol in Amble Industrial Estate disturbed three persons with a quantity of cable , believed to have been stolen from premises nearby. The officers gave chase and detained one of the youths in the estate , whilst the other two were arrested later that day. All three were interviewed and are currently on bail pending enquiries.

On 5th December 2011 a burglary occurred in the early hours of the morning at Breeze Bikes , Amble Industrial Estate, where two pedal bikes valued at £2945 were stolen. Three persons were disturbed and ran off from the premises . Police were called and an extensive search was carried out, also using  a police dog. A male was arrested nearby. Police are still carrying out enquiries to apprehend the other two males

Minor youth disorder calls made to police have been dealt with by high visibility and early intervention by officers in and around Amble . A number of youths have been spoken to and advised re the consequences of any future misconduct . Police will continue to patrol in any perceived problem areas and deal will take effective action against any persons causing  a public nuisance.

Police at Alnwick and Amble are continuing to carry out  community speed watch in areas where previous speeding problems have occurred. Police will deal positively with offenders who do not adhere to the proscribed speed limit.
