Artograffi:July/Aug
Welcome to the summer edition of Artograffi. At this time England are still in the world cup, but the way the goal keeper is going, it won’t be for long.
13 years old conquers Mount Everest
Jordan Romero aged 13 from America has climbed to the top of the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest.
He reached the top on Saturday the 20th of May 2010.
The climb was a really tough journey, especially to Jordan.
“I’m doing this to inspire other kids, hopefully across the world, to get outdoors and set goals in life. I’m doing this to set an example for them,” Jordan said.
Jordan now has his sights set on climbing a mountain in Antarctica called Vinson Massif.
If he manages it he would be the youngest person to have completed the seven summits.

Volcanic Ash
On the 20th March 2010 seismic activity (which basically means that the volcano is getting angry) in Southern Iceland’s volcano Eyjafjallajoekull, increased, sending millions of tons of ash into the Earth’s atmosphere grounding most of Europe’s airplanes and destroying peoples travel plans. So why are planes not allowed to fly? Well you may think that the on-board GPS (Global Positioning System) would guide the plane through the ash, well it’s not visibility that’s the problem, it’s actually the jet engines that are the danger, in the ash are tiny particles of glass, if they manage to get into the jet engines, the heat of the engine would melt the glass particles and cause it to solidify with a devastating outcome.

The Braid
Amble has a very good braid. There is a massive house on the braid. The house is all boarded up, as you can see the house is a mess and you can tell. What if some one can turn this into better house, or a club where young people can go to hang out or even we could get a supermarket?

Girl Survives Box Jellyfish Attack
An Australian schoolgirl was involved in a jellyfish attack and has amazed the doctors by surviving. The deadly box jellyfish had attacked 10 year old Rachael while she was swimming near her home in Queensland, Australia.
Rachael was stung in December but gladly her brother Sam, managed to pull her out of the water before she passed out. During the trip to hospital, Rachael’s heart had stopped so her Dad had to perform emergency first aid. Therefore it is amazing that she had survived the sting.
She stayed in hospital for six weeks and is now at home but experts say that she is probably the first to survive a sting from the box jellyfish, considering she was very strong and she was only ten.
The box jellyfish has attacked adults too and been fatal. Rachael has some scars remaining on the leg where the jellyfish wrapped its tentacles around. She told doctors that after it attacked her, she couldn’t see or breathe. Rachael is now recovering and everyone is amazed that she has survived.

Exams
I asked some people what they think of exams;
Emily: They are a waste of time.
Will: They’re horrible because they’re hard.
Alex: They are really easy.
Shenice: They are stupid.
Me: I don’t like exams because they are really hard.

Too young?
Sixteen year old Jessica Watson sailed into the waters of Sydney, Australia returning home after a 23,000 nautical mile journey around the globe.
As she pulled into the port, Jessica became the youngest sailor to circle the globe non-stop
on her own.
But the stupid thing is that she is not being recognised as the youngest sailor which is ridiculous as she is too young, NOT!!
