Operation Christmas child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas appeal which brings joy and hope to children living in Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Last year almost 1,200,000 shoeboxes filled with gifts were sent from the UK to poor and needy children who otherwise would not  receive a gift at Christmas
To take part in the campaign from 1st to 18th November please pick up a leaflet from  shops and churches in Amble, and larger quantities of leaflets for distribution can be obtained from N & F Young at 8 Queen Street.
Filled shoeboxes and donations of gifts can be left at the charity’s official drop-off points at N & F Young or The Fourways Centre,  Dilston Terrace, or alternatively brought to the coffee morning on 13th November.
Further information and campaign resources can be obtained from Lesley Young on 01665 712324 / 710289 or Yvonne Barclay on 07514 395045.
