Police awards

Local school pupils won themselves family passes to the Alnwick Rugby Club firework display in a Safety on Bonfire Night competition organised by community police officer Darin Fawcett. He talked to them about staying safe on bonfire night and told the story of Guy Fawkes and then set them a task to illustrate the talk.

Darin told us that after his talks last year the police did not receive one call for disorder or antisocial behaviour on bonfire night.
Winners: St Cuthberts First School, Chloe Gerrard and Jack Stevens; Amble Links First School, Georgia Ramsay and Bobby Stone; Edwin Street First School, Niamh Foster and Emma Brierley; Warkworth First School, Emily Pounder and Leah Johnson; Amble Middle School, Francesca Pringle and Jessica Morris. The prizes were donated by Alnwick Round Table.
