Snow didn’t stop play

On 21st December over 125 children, young people and their families from across the Coquet partnership of schools turned out in the snow to take part in a fantastic day of Winter Solstice activities.

The day started at 9.00am with bacon butties and hot chocolate and offered a fun filled day ending at 3.30pm, just in time for even more snow!

Activities on offer included kite making, henna tattoos, Christmas arts and crafts, team games, along with KNEX challenges, dressing up, music workshops provided by artists from the Sage at Gateshead and much, much more.

Sara Jenson-Boon, Coquet Partnership Extended Services Coordinator commented, “The day had been a fantastic success, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and went away exhausted but with bags of creative crafts that they had made throughout the day”.

Sara would also like to thank everyone who came along and supported the day including the young volunteers from Coquet Youth Team. The day was open to all families across the school partnership area and was one day of many events that had taken place over the last few months.
