British Legion Coach Trip

The Yorkshire Air Museum (RAF Elvington)

Join us for a fascinating day out to iconic WW2 bomber base. The day tour will visit the fantastic museum and include an afternoon visit to York. Tour guide presentation on arrival.
Price is £14 per person which includes entrance fee.
Pick ups in Warkworth and Amble approx 8.30 am – return approx 6pm.
The Yorkshire Air Museum is the largest independent air museum in Britain and also the location of The Allied Air Forces Memorial. It is the largest  World War 2 bomber station open to the public. 15 top class exhibitions including Air Gunner collection, Pioneers of Aviation, Dam Buster Raid exhibition, a large range of military vehicles and 50 historic aircraft. It also has a NAAFI themed restaurant and café. Roughshod‘s visit to Amble

The Roughshod group, part of the Riding Lights Theatre Company based in York, is a team of young actors bringing drama to communities.  Operating in the parish of St. Cuthbert’s from May 8th – 21st  they will give evening public performances, drama workshops and work in churches, schools and prisons.
Sunday May 8th: Welcome service, followed by a pooled supper, and a short performance in St. Cuthbert’s at 6:00pm
Sunday May15th 9:30am Roughshod will join in the Sunday morning service.
Drama Workshops
Saturday May 21st:10:30am to 12:30pm – Young Persons’ Drama Workshop in Amble Parish Hall, for ages 12 to 18 years.
Cost £5, including light refreshments.
Saturday May 14th  from 10:30am to 12:30pm – Adult Drama Workshop sponsored by Warkworth Drama Group in Warkworth Memorial Hall. Open to all aged 16 and over, and costs £10, which include light refreshments.

Saturday  May 21st 7:30pm in Amble Parish Hall. Company presents DOWNSIDEUP, a  range of stories and sketches, comedy and music, which give a very different perspective on the powerful pressures of modern living.

Chat to help wildlife

Northumberland Wildlife Trust  needs volunteers to join its enthusiastic marketing and fundraising team to help with  marketing activities around Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside. Tasks include selling Trust membership, helping to organise events, co-ordinating the distribution and collection of donation boxes/buckets etc.
No experience is necessary but an outgoing personality is essential.  Any necessary training will be given and all volunteers will be subject to a CRB police check.

Air Ambulance fundraiser

‘Something old, something new’, a musical evening,
at St. Marks United Reformed Church, Amble.
Performed by ‘Old stagers’ and by some for whom this will be their debut. Refreshments available during the interval. All profits to the Northumberland Air Ambulance. This promises to be a fun night – nothing too ‘high brow’ so please come along, .
