A hive of activity

Once again Amble seems to be buzzing with activity. Congratulations to Spurreli on winning the prestigious Golden Fork award. And many congratulations to Tamsin Green who is once again Ladies surf kayak World Champion!

The opening of Pride of Northumbria in part of the old Co-op department store ends an era and creates an extension to the availability of local produce in the town, as well as an attractive addition to Queen Street shopfronts. KB Shoes has now opened to extend our choice of footwear; The Flower Centre is to become 42 Queen Street, parting with its florist’s business to Flowers by Julie, and extending its current range of other merchandise; the opening of Chisholms next to Lianne’s will give us a chance to bet on snow for Christmas; and the major renovation opposite the top Co-op will undoubtedly create a fine new shopfront ready to take on another business – definitely NOT Greggs, we are told, contrary to popular rumour.
