Treefest 2011

St Mark’s United Reformed Church is holding another Treefest. The idea is that individuals, families, shops, schools, businesses, agree to provide a Christmas tree (real or artificial) with a set of lights, and decorations.

Businesses may wish to use the opportunity to advertise…for instance, an optician may decorate the tree with glasses, a plumber with bits of piping and u-bends. Others could choose any theme. A card would be displayed in front of your tree to say who provided it.

Trees will be put up on the evening of Thursday, December 15th and will be on display until Sunday 18th . Visitors will be charged a small fee to come and view them and partake in light refreshments while they are there. A special activity will take place on the morning of Saturday, December 17th for the young people. Please look out for more information nearer the time. The event will culminate in a Christmas Festival Service on Sunday, December 18th at 3.00pm after which participants will remove their trees.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Sue Swanston, 2 Burnside. Telelphone: 711177.
You must pre-book if you are taking part. We are unable to cope with all of you just turning up on 15th with loads of trees!! But we would like ALL THE PEOPLE of Amble to “just turn up” on 16th, 17th, 18th; that would be fantastic.
