Amble Action Group: Jubilee celebration plans

We will celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Monday, 4 June 2012 with a number of events taking place around the town. We will start with a church service in St Cuthbert’s C of E, Church Street at 11.30 followed at about 12.30 by a parade from the top of Queen Street down to the Town Square.

Fundraising has taken place, including a town quiz, an evening at the Radcliffe Club, a display of coronation china and a candle stall in the Town Council Offices.

11.30–12.30  Church Service St Cuthbert’s. Parade to muster in High Street.
12.30–13.00  The tannoy will start the parade down Queen Street. Stalls, bunting and flags. Everyone is welcome to take part in the parade, the theme is ‘Red, White and Blue’, so get dressed up or come as you are, but take part.
13.00  Town Square for picnic. Bands to play, hog roast, ice cream, magician, face painting, raffle and various stalls, cream teas.
13.00–15.00  Coquet Shore Base Open Day.
14.30–15.00  First flight by the Falcons at Little Shore
15.00  Stand up Paddle display at Harbour Master’s Field (Little Shore)
15.30  Pageant of boats in the Harbour. Yachts, fishing boats, canoeing, RNLI.
16.15  RNLI rescue. Second flight Falcons
Evening: a fairground on the Harbour Master’s Field (Little Shore). Harbour Lights Choir, burger van, refreshments, cream teas, ceramics stall, RBL stall, guides and candle stall in the Harbour Master’s office.
17.00-19.00  Music from The Range  on Harbour grassland
Early Evening:  Coronation themed events will take place in the Radcliffe Social Club. Entry free. Dino the Dinosaur to lead people to fireworks
21.30  Fireworks display from the North Breakwater
22.15  Closing ceremony with the lighting of the Beacon on the Braid.
Toilets (facilities for the disabled) are at the Tourist Information Centre (Town Square) and opposite the Harbour Master’s Office.
