Backpacks for African children

Posted on 30th May 2012 | in Inner Wheel Club Amble and Warkworth

As part of the Mary’s Meals project, the ladies of the Inner Wheel Club of Amble & Warkworth have been filling backpacks.

To date, we have filled 14 backpacks – seven for girls, seven for boys – between the ages of 4 and 12. Into each, we have put stationary, a spoon, toiletries, a towel, a ball, some flip flops, and dresses for the girls, shorts and T shirts for the boys.

They will be sent to Africa and given to children who will now be able to go to school because they have equipment. Most of the items have been donated, and money raised at a Coffee Morning has paid for the other items.
