Rotary tasks for year ahead

The new Rotary year started on 1 July, and the new team at the Rotary Club of Amble and Warkworth assembled recently at The Sun Hotel. The new International Committee chairman is John Lilley.

One of the first tasks for the club was to provide marshalls for the visit of HRH The Prince of Wales and our photo (below left) shows ‘President Jim’ chatting with Prince Charles. Next on the agenda will see Rotarians acting as car parking stewards at Warkworth Show, a job they have performed for a number of years.

Amble and Warkworth Rotary Club have donated £200 to the Childrens’ Heart Unit at The Freeman Hospital in memory of Rotarian David Forsyth who died earlier this year.  David’s granddaughter, Beth, successfully underwent heart surgery two years ago and David had hoped that the Rotary Club, of which he was a Past President, might donate to this very worthy cause.
