Western Front Association events 2013

As always, WFA meetings are held at Alnmouth Ex-Servicemen’s Club and start at 7.15 pm for 7.30 pm. Visitors and new members will be made most welcome. The suggested minimum donation is £1, to include a light buffet supper.

25 March — ‘The Unknown General (Horne)’ — John Sadler (Professor Emeritus, Newcastle University).
22 April — ‘Hurrah for the next man to die! The British over the trenches’ — Peter Trionfi (branch member).
27 May — ‘Nasmith’s E11’ — Craig Weir (branch member).
24 June — ‘Jutland, 1916’ — Peter Hart (Oral Historian, Imperial War Museum).
22 July — ‘Nelly Spindler, the Pride of Yorkshire’ — Mavis Sellers (West Yorkshire Branch).
26 August — No formal meeting.
23 September — ‘The Wombles of the Western Front: BEF Salvage in the Great War’ — Rob Thompson (Military Historian).
28 October — ‘I’m Big Bertha – Beware of imitations’ — David Easton (branch member).
25 November — ‘A 1911 German outlook on the impending Great European War’ — Derek Gladding  (branch member).
23 December — No formal meeting.
