Aln Valley Railway tree planting

Posted on 07th March 2013 | in Community , What's On

In preparation for the opening of the Aln Valley Railway volunteers are needed to help with planting 420 Woodland Trust saplings at Lionheart on Saturday and Sunday 9th and 10th of March.

If there is time, we’ll be preparing the borders and other areas for the coming season.

Please let us know if you are able to come along and help, we will aim to start from about 10.30. Don’t worry if you can only spare an hour – every little helps!

We don’t have gardening tools on site so please bring a spade etc and wear suitable outdoor clothing, stout shoes/wellies and gardening gloves. Depending on how long you are able to spare you might also want to bring hot drinks, sandwiches etc.

If you can’t help this time there will be two more planting weekends coming up – on 23rd / 24th March and a date in April TBC. These will be for hedge planting.
