‘Lindisfarne Legacy’ Pop-up Exhibition

Posted on 19th August 2013 | in Community , What's On

pop-up-panelsSt Cuthbert’s Church on Church Street will be hosting a display about the Lindisfarne Gospels, linked to the exhibition of the Lindisfarne Gospels in Durham.

The seven-panel ‘pop-up’ exhibition will be on show in the church from 17th August until 1st Sept.  The panels tell the story of the Northern Saints, especially St Cuthbert and the creation of the Lindisfarne Gospels, part of the glorious heritage of Northumbria.

It has been possible to bring the display to St Cuthbert’s following the recent removal of some pews at the rear of the church.  All are welcome to come along and visit the exhibition: church is open between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. every day.  Come and see too how much more spacious the parish church looks.

Refreshments will be served on some exhibition days – please see the church noticeboard for further info.
