JustinCooperVolunteer at The Ambler and Northumberland College student, Justin Cooper, has won bronze in the IT Support Technician section of the WorldSkills UK national competition.

As part of the systems support technician category, Justin was instructed to build a computer from scratch. He also had to repair another computer and link them to a network.

“It was a good experience and it has built my confidence,” said Justin. “At the competition, everyone was nervous. I just had to take a deep breath, and focus on the task. By the end of the second day I was sure that I hadn’t won a medal.

“On the night of the presentation, I got dressed up smartly, just in case. When my name was announced, and displayed on the big screen, I was shocked. Hands reached out to shake mine, and I walked up to the stage to receive my bronze medal.”
