Harbour-week-adWe’ve got a week (and a bit), of pirate themed fun and activities at the Harbour Village from Saturday 22nd August – Sunday 30th August.

As well as the 15 fantastic art, craft, gift, food and drink selling pods, we will have troublesome pirates, music, treasure hunts and crafts for the kids all week, a mini-craft market on the first weekend, a mini-food market on the second weekend, and offers through the town*, linked to donating to the Lifeboat, who have their Harbour Day on Sunday 30th August.

More details can be found at www.ambleharbourvillage.co.uk/news-events

Through the week we will also be promoting and displaying some of the wonderful local businesses who provide water-based activities. The Coquet Shorebase Trust, North-side Surf, and Coquet Yacht Club will be offering lessons/tours/fun during Harbour Week but be sure to book to avoid disappointment.

Mermaids and pirates wanted at Lifeboat Day

This year’s Harbour Day takes place on Sunday 30 August and will feature all the family fun we love. In addition to the stalls, raffles, live music, food and the classic motorbikes along the quayside, this year there will be activities also on the Little Shore.

The main lifeboat display takes place in the estuary at 1.30pm and will be accompanied by a commentary from the Coastguards.

This year everyone is encouraged to don fancy dress! “We look forward to seeing the quayside awash with sea creatures, pirates, lobsters, and mermaids! Parents and adults are welcome to dress up too, join in with the Committee and crew in ensuring that we have a fun packed day raising money to meet the £200,000 target for a new Shannon Class Lifeboat” said organiser Katrina Cassidy.
