Events for stargazers in November

Posted on 15th October 2015 | in NASTRO , News

nastro-moonNastro will be running two events in November for beginners to astronomy.
Nov 12: Choosing and using a telescope. A brief guide to different types of astronomical telescopes (and binoculars). NASTRO members will have a variety of telescopes on hand for demonstration and discussion. We’ll talk about different types of telescope mount (including equatorial, alt-az and GoTo) and eyepieces. At the end of the session you’ll have a much better idea of what you can expect to see through various telescopes and how much they cost.

Nov 26: Introduction to astrophotography. This session will cover the basics of how to take pictures of the moon, stars, planets, aurora and meteors. We’ll look at various methods of imaging through telescopes and software needed to do image processing. NASTRO members with imaging experience will be on hand to demonstrate their cameras and equipment and to answer your questions.

Both meetings take place at The Trap Inn, Broomhill starting at 7.30pm. These events are both free of charge.
