Children from Amble Links School can work outdoors in their new gazebo

We’re very excited about further developments to our outdoor space at Amble Links First School during the summer.

We now have a large new gazebo that we’ll be able to use for a range of activities throughout the school day for sheltered outdoor activities.

The gazebo has been paid for by the amazing fundraising efforts of our school PTA through the many events they have organised that are so well-supported by our families.

Following a successful bid for a National Lottery Big Lottery Fund Grant of £10,000 funded by lottery players, we have also started construction of a 350 metre long multi-use path around the perimeter of our school field.

The new multi-use path is proving popular already

We hope to be able to use it at playtimes, lunchtimes before school and after school for running, cycling and scooting (amongst other activities!) and make use of the large outdoor space we have throughout the year.

We will also be encouraging children and parents to complete a ‘morning mile’ using our path.
We’re sure that lots more ideas about how we can use it will come up too!

We’re continuing to develop how we use the path and will aim to physically develop it further still.
We’d like to thank Kelly Construction for their ongoing hard work on these projects.
