Hauxley Nature Reserve set to reopen

Just over three years since it was officially opened by wildlife TV presenter and naturalist Simon King, Northumberland Wildlife Trust is all set to throw open the doors of its Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre again to members of the public.

Throughout July, the reserve, which is always free to access, will operate on a booking system, with spaces available mornings and afternoons. Visit nwt.org.uk/events to secure a slot and avoid disappointment.

The reserve will be open from Thursday 9 July, every Thursday to Sunday.

The Hauxley team is hoping that once August arrives, life at the Wildlife Discovery Centre will return to normality and its Lookout Cafe with its fabulous soup, cakes and sandwiches will be back on the menu, not to mention a few new varieties of scones created during lockdown by the cafe staff.
