Concern as Covid numbers jump in Amble

The number of people in Amble who have tested positive for Covid-19 has increased to 7 in the last few days. On 2 June, the number of cases in Amble were 0-4, as they have been since March.

On 5 June, figures show they have risen to 7, making it the fourth highest ward in Northumberland for positive infections. The biggest hit groups have been those aged 10-19 and 20-29.

Numbers across Northumberland have risen in the last week, with 19 per 100k on 2 June, jumping to 42 per 100k on 5 June.

The worst hit age groups are those 10-19 and 20-29

By 3 June, medical staff in the Amble, Shilbottle and Swarland area had administered 15,819 vaccinations (cumulative first and second jabs).
