JCSC A Level results 2021

Congratulations to all the A Level students at James Calvert Spence College.

Maya McGarvey said: “I got three A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I spent ages revising and I am just so pleased all my hard work has paid off. I am going to go down to London to study medicine at Imperial College.”

She added: “The teachers have been so helpful as well, they did such a good job and I had all the support I needed so it is a huge thank you to them really.”

With exams cancelled due to the pandemic, this year’s results have been determined by teacher assessment, using a combination of coursework, mock tests and other examples of pupils’ work.
Grades have also been signed off by head teachers, with samples double checked by exam boards.

Executive Headteacher Neil Rogers said: ” Despite the well-documented disruption to their studies over the past two years, the outgoing Sixth Form students at James Calvert Spence College produced our best ever set of A-level and level 3 vocational results – as expected from the cohort who gave us our best GCSE results to date in 2019.

“With all students achieving the grades that enable them to progress to their destination of choice, and the vast majority securing places at their first-choice university, they can be incredibly proud of their achievements. Not only has this year group performed to an exceptional level academically, but the students have also demonstrated the kind of maturity, adaptability and resilience through the most extraordinary circumstances that will see them succeed in whatever life throws at them.

“I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of these fantastic young people – they are a credit to themselves, our school, their families, and our community.”
