Exhibition: The Nature of Nests

Over a period of six weeks young people from Amble Youth Group explored the theme of nests. It is a universal theme, which lends itself to ideas about home and a sense of place. The nests project is part of the Bord Waalk Sculpture trail community engagement programme.

Exhibition of Nests

The opening event, an exhibition at Dry Water Arts Centre was held on 15 February. It was a joyous celebration of the creative capabilities of the young people and they are looking forward to developing the project.

Visitors to the exhibition made the following comments:-
“The photography is beautiful; I really enjoyed looking at all of the nests.”

“What inspiring use of found materials, careful thought in the making and thank you to the young people for explaining everything to me.”

“Wonderfully inspiring and such a professional approach to all aspects of the exhibition.”

“The nests are beautiful and the children were so welcoming and excited.”

“I loved the simplicity of the materials and how each nest is so different. Everyone has such a lot of talent.”
